Schönbühel, Peregrine chapel at former Servite monastery

In 1767, Johann Wenzel Bergl did work on the Peregrine chapel at the former Servite monastery of Schönbühel. The painting shows the ascension of Saint Peregrine into heaven. His figures recall work he did shortly before at Pielach palace. Bergl also created the illusionistic architectural elements on the apse as well as the flower vases and blossom garlands in the chapel.
